WATERCOLOURS

Bettina Schroeder is a London-based artist whose work is regularly exhibited throughout Britain and Europe - most recently in London and Zurich.
Bettina organized her first painting holiday in 1987. Such was its success that she has organized painting holidays every year since - and broadened the choice of location.
Bettina teaches in watercolour mainly but also in other media as required. She gives particular attention to 'wet-in-wet' technique as well as to some of the ground rules for beginners. Her emphasis is on how to capture the excitement on first spotting a subject, without getting too bogged down in technicalities. She concentrates on landscape painting but also offers other subjects to paint, ranging from still life and flowers to figures or chosen objects. Bettina's painting holidays are suitable for all levels from the absolute beginner to the accomplished painter. Groups are kept small (between about 8 and 14 students) so you can visibly advance within the week and draw from Bettina's insights. Her daily demonstrations help you get started. They also address established techniques such as 'negative painting', and commonly-encountered problems with perspective, colour density, colour recession, and so on. Bettina normally teaches in day sessions lasting from 10am until 4pm, so there is time for you to relax before dinner, to explore the locality, or even continue painting.Times might vary occasionally however, according to the demands of the day.

A painting holiday with Bettina Schroeder will help you to make the most of your abilities and will help you to develop your own approach to brushwork, colour, composition - and so on. But most of all it will let you enjoy the sheer, simple pleasure of painting. Beginners and accomplished painters welcome!
