When Fiore
was restoring Peralta, her dream was that eventually it would
be a haven for artists; a special place where people could come
and feel the inspiration to create; she wanted it to retain
its medieval austerity and simplicity and to be an oasis of
calm and tranquillity where artists and writers could escape
from the "real" world and be in surroundings where
they could work in peace.
Peralta is a dream for artists - everywhere you look there is
a potential painting in front of your eyes! And May and June
are ideal months, with long days, excellent light and reasonable
temperatures.
During the past thirty years, there have always been artists
and writers who have somehow found Peralta. Staying here mainly
in the winter months when the hamlet is very peaceful and virtually
empty of people, these artists and writers form the handful
who have come the closest to fulfilling Fiore's primary vision.
