There
are many good walks to be had starting from Peralta itself. There
are walks to excellent Tuscan restaurants such as Torcigliano
(1 hour) and Gombitelli
( 2 hours). There is a 2 hour walk to the lovely hill town of
Metato and a further hour will take you to the picturesque village
of Casoli with its little bar
perched over a ravine. These walks are along ancient hillside
paths in and out of Chestnut forests and past many old and derelict
homesteads. For the more ambitous walker the 4,000 feet summit of
Mount Prana can reached in about 3 hours
from where there are spectacular views of the whole Alpi
Alpuane and the Mediterranean.
